Tips to Stop Emotional Eating

Most of the time emotional eating can be a burden to our diet. When were emotionally depress or stress out we turn to food as a means of comfort resulting in interfering to losing weight.  Using food as mean of comfort or to ease up our emotion can turn into a habit.
This habit may lead us to gaining weight rather than losing weight. We cant stop our emotions, but we can divert or substitute something to be a means of comfort, rather than eating food.


Tips in stopping Emotional Eating

1. Know the things that can give you stress and avoid it, if its unavoidable try to do something that can remove your stress rather than eating food. When your stress you tend to eat food you may replace this with some fun activities such us talking to your friends or family, playing games, do some exercise, walking outside, have a massage and etc.

2. If you are bored try some activity that will give you excitement such us playing with your friends, playing computer games, going outside (mall, park, library, anywhere there's people).

3. When your depress, usually some people who are depressed tends to eat less or some eat more. To combat depression you must be aware that there are someone or somebody there to comfort and care for you.

4. Keep a food diary. Write down what you eat, how much you eat, when you eat, how you're feeling when you eat and how hungry you are. Over time, you may see patterns emerge that reveal the connection between mood and food.

5. Start your day right. Do some exercise in the morning, don't skip breakfast, and  remember to eat some in between meal like crackers.
